Principal's Message

Welcome to another great year at Almond Grove School. It has been such a joy seeing all the returning faces and all of the new faces as well. The students have had a great first week of school already. They are learning all of their new classroom procedures and routines, diving into their new curriculum and meeting new friends.

This year we will continue to focus on student attendance. This year we will be Striving for Five with our attendance. We want students to be on time, on target, and strive for 5 or less absences during the school year. We know that attendance affects achievement. We know that attendance becomes a habit. We know that attendance equals graduation. Attendance is a team effort and all school staff are here to help support our students.

Classes will be competing monthly for the best overall attendance and the class with the best attendance at the end of the year will win the big pizza party and jumpy fun party with the principal.

GO MUSTANGS!

We also will be having a district wide attendance competition. All schools will be competing for the best overall monthly attendance and our school hopes to win the banner the most times during the school year!  Remember that good school attendance is a major predictor of good school performance!

We look forward to a rewarding school year!  It is wonderful to see all the smiling students coming back to school.
