The Oakley Union Elementary School district annually notifies our students, employees, parents or guardians of its students, the district advisory committee, school advisory committees, appropriate private school officials, and other interested parties of the Uniform Complaint Procedures (UCP) process

Welcome to Almond Grove Elementary School

At Almond Grove Elementary School, learning is a process that extends to everyone in our community, including students, staff and parents. We have a caring school community where all children and adults feel welcome, respected and are an important component of our school. We work hard to ensure that all students reach their potential by maintaining high expectations and setting high standards to promote academic excellence. Implementation of Common Core State Standards is focusing on preparing students for college and career readiness. Our school is designed to foster a positive school climate based on a caring school community that values diversity and nurtures self-esteem.

    June 1st-3rd Student belonging pickup
    Dear Almond Grove Families,
These next couple of weeks,  the teachers and staff are working to prepare your child(s) belongings for pickup on June 1-3rd. While you will see cars in the parking lot, please know that we are following strict social distancing guidelines provided to us by our District, County and Health Department.
For our student material pick up days on June 1-3rd, we would like to remind you of our plan  for parent pickup of student belongings. Please see the schedule below. Due to our large number of families, we need to stagger pickup times based on grade level. If you are unable to personally come during your assigned time, please make other arrangements ahead of time (relative, family friend, neighbor). If you are unable to come at your child’s time but are sending someone else to pick up your child’s belongings, please email me so I am aware.

    2. Please make a sign for your right side windshield window with:
    ·       Student(s) Last Name  and First Name
    ·       Name of your student’s teacher(s)
This will allow staff to radio ahead for your child’s items to make this as efficient as possible for you.
    3. There will be four stations set up for each car to pull through with signs for each station. Station 1-Chromebook return-if you borrowed a chrome book, please return the chrome book and the power plug at station one. Staff will verify it matches the device you checked out and looks in good working order. Station two-library or textbook return. Station 3-spring photos and yearbook(if you ordered). There will be some yearbooks available for purchase, $20 cash only, while they last. Station Four-Student belongings from child’s classroom.
A few things to keep in mind:
There are currently no items in the Almond Grove Lost and Found as per previous procedures, all items left in Lost & Found are donated during each school break throughout the year.
Report cards will be mailed home after school gets out.
Please remain patient throughout this process and we will do our best to keep the line moving smoothly.
If, upon returning home, you find someone else’s belongings mixed in with your child’s, please contact your teacher via email/dojo:  We will do our best to find a solution.
Any items not picked up will be held at the Almond Grove campus until June 5th. Please contact Almond Grove at (925)625-6720 to request a final pick up time.
If you have any questions, please let me know. Stay healthy and we will see you all soon!

    Pandemic EBT

Because schools are closed due to COVID-19, families who are eligible for free or reduced-price meals can get extra food benefits to help feed their children. These food benefits are called Pandemic EBT or P-EBT and are in addition to any free meals that you may be receiving through our meal distribution on Mondays and Thursdays.

Families will get up to $365 per eligible child on a P-EBT card. You can use your P-EBT card like a debit card to buy food and groceries for your children.

Most families who receive CalFresh, CalWORKS, Medi-Cal or other social services benefits will get a P-EBT card in the mail before May 22. Please keep an eye out for this card in the mail over the next few weeks.

Other families will need to complete a simple and quick online application before June 30, 2020.
