Attending school helps me, and my future because...

By the 6th grade, if a student continues to be chronically absent, it is a leading indicator of whether he or she will drop out of high school.

Welcome to Almond Grove Elementary School

almond grove logo.jpgAt Almond Grove Elementary School, learning is a process that extends to everyone in our community, including students, staff and parents. We have a caring school community where all children and adults feel welcome, respected and are an important component of our school. We work hard to ensure that all students reach their potential by maintaining high expectations and setting high standards to promote academic excellence. Implementation of Common Core State Standards is focusing on preparing students for college and career readiness. Our school is designed to foster a positive school climate based on a caring school community that values diversity and nurtures self-esteem.

School Safety Reminder

School safety is our top priority. Please help us ensure our drop off loop moves safely and efficiently by doing the following:

  • Do not park in the drop off loop
  • Pull as far forward as you can when dropping off students

(Do not stop by the gate)

  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the lot

The loop is now painted red. We are working closely with the Oakley Police Department to improve student safety. If you park in the red zone, an Oakley Police Department Officer may issue you a ticket.

Thank you for your cooperation to ensure student safety at Almond Grove.

Parking Lot Safety

Dear Almond Grove Families,

Drop off and pick up can be a hectic and busy time. To ensure student safety and keep traffic flowing please make sure you follow our procedures at all times:

  • DO NOT PARK in the RED ZONE. This is the Fire Lane Only.
  • DO NOT leave your car unattended.
  • PULL FORWARD as far as possible before stopping to load.
  • ALWAYS load children on the passenger side.
  • If parking, please walk to the pick up area to pick up children. It is not safe to have them walking through the parking lot.
  • MORNINGS- Please leave parking spaces in the parking lot available to the Almond Grove Staff.
  • When picking up, please do not arrive too early. It blocks the lanes and the younger ones cannot be picked up.

Thank you for continuing to put our children's safety first by following these procedures.
