Going to school is important to me because...

Good attendance is important in kindergarten and first grade because: 1) children learn to read and write in these early grades; 2) reading provides the building blocks to understand math; 3) children learn how to be good students in the early years; and 4) students have fun and make friends when they are in school.

Welcome to Almond Grove Elementary School

almond grove logo.jpgAt Almond Grove Elementary School, learning is a process that extends to everyone in our community, including students, staff and parents. We have a caring school community where all children and adults feel welcome, respected and are an important component of our school. We work hard to ensure that all students reach their potential by maintaining high expectations and setting high standards to promote academic excellence. Implementation of Common Core State Standards is focusing on preparing students for college and career readiness. Our school is designed to foster a positive school climate based on a caring school community that values diversity and nurtures self-esteem.

Over the break, Almond Grove Families and Staff collected donations for the Napa, Sonoma and Santa Rosa fire victims. We would like to give a Special Thank You to Antioch Uhaul for donating a trailer to transport the donations; Grocery Outlet of Oakley for giving a monetary donation (which was used to buy dry goods); and Stella, the Oakley Ace Hardware Manager, for donating many cases of water. Everyone's kindness, generosity and effort is very much appreciated!

Almond Grove's full trailer consisting of clothes, water, shovels, brooms, fire extinguishers, respiratory masks, safety glasses, dry food, pet food, heavy duty gloves, toiletries and much more.

School Safety Reminder

School safety is our top priority. Please help us ensure our drop off loop moves safely and efficiently by doing the following:

  • Do not park in the drop off loop
  • Pull as far forward as you can when dropping off students

(Do not stop by the gate)

  • Drive slowly and cautiously through the lot

The loop is now painted red. We are working closely with the Oakley Police Department to improve student safety. If you park in the red zone, an Oakley Police Department Officer may issue you a ticket.

Thank you for your cooperation to ensure student safety at Almond Grove.
